Leave a Legacy

The whole point of including the word "legacy" in our name is that it provides a means for people to provide for the greater good - to give now in some way to experience an incredible space, but ultimately, when it is our time to move on, to also leave a wonderful legacy for others.

There is no more inspiring way to pass on a legacy than through art. Charles Dole originally took title to the property and created his own art, through architecture and landscape. He sent out a message to the world of prestige and grandeur. He had the finest European craftsmen carve, mold and lay into place an inspirational piece of art that we today still benefit from, and if we do things right, future generations will too. 

Words can hardly capture the importance of what we're attempting to convey.  You understand the importance of helping others reach their potential; of supporting that which ultimately will grow and help others; of sharing, and of making at least a little difference in this corner of the world.

Educating and exposing people to the arts provides immeasurable benefit to individuals' self-confidence, intellectual growth and future career aspirations. Cultural arts centers such as this park also have an immensely positive impact on local communities and their surrounding regions.

This community has come together to preserve an important piece of architecture - a legacy left by past generations.   Now, we have the opportunity to create something quite special during our time here, and experience it first hand before passing it on.

As a community, gathering our collective ambitions, optimism and resources and focusing that energy on a highly positive endeavor can, and will be quite rewarding.  Together, we form a community mosaic of caring- a true piece of art - that, if done with a spirit of optimism and determination, will only grow.
